Aswan Attractions

On the Luxor side, the highlights are Karnak and Luxor Temples, the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut’s Temple and the Colossi of Memnon. Sailing south you reach Edfu and Kom Ombo, while Aswan offers Philae Temple, the High Dam and the unmissable Abu Simbel.

A 3 or 4-night Nile cruise covers all the essential sites between the two cities. If you want a relaxed pace, add Abu Simbel, or extend to a 7-night cruise for the lesser-known temples like Dendera and Abydos.

On our cruises, entrance fees for the sights listed in the program are included, along with a licensed Egyptologist guide. Optional extras such as Abu Simbel or the special tombs in the Valley of the Kings are usually paid separately.

Yes. Abu Simbel is around three hours from Aswan and is offered as an optional excursion by road or short flight. It’s one of Egypt’s most spectacular sites and well worth the early start.

Early morning and late afternoon are ideal — the light is beautiful for photos and the temperatures are far more comfortable than midday, especially between May and September.
